Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

Beautiful book – I thoroughly enjoyed every page of this. It was great seeing Cromwell brought to life so clearly and so cleverly. Made me want to go a ready The Prince again!

Quick health note – if you’re not very familiar with Tudor history, especially that of the politics of Henry VIII’s reign then you might find it hard going.for a quick in I suggest watching “The Tudors” starring Jonathon Rhys Meyers

The book tells the story of Cromwell’s life, and with it takes an interesting lens to the reign of Henry VIII. It really describes the changes that were occuring society at the time really well – the growth of the power of the state, the lowering of the power of religion, and very beginnings of social mobility.
